Pastel Painting Remake Of Childhood Painting entered in EBSQArt May 2009's Reinterpreting Children's Art Competition
Recreating a child's piece of art into your own piece with your own current style as an adult. What an interesting concept! I am currently working on something that I will be entering in the EBSQart.com "Reinterpreting Children's Art" May 2009 competition. "Sunset Kid" (shown on far left) is something I created when I was about 11
.
I had a thing that I liked to do which was painting on gift boxes. After, I recreated "Sunset Kid" to the more recent "Sunset 2009" into my own adult style. Voting is from June 1 - June 8. Winner will be announced.

Pastel Painting of Flowers entered in EBSQArt May 2009's One-Word Concept Competition: Scintillating
Scintillating: [sin-tl-ey-ting] animated, vivacious, effervescent, sparkley. That's what the dictionary at least says and hopefully that is what the 5 pastel paintings (shown on the left) that I created say. These 5 pieces have recently been entered in the EBSQart.com "one-Word Concept: Scintillating" May 2009 competition. Voting is from June 1 - June 8. Winner will be announced.

"Closeup Waterlily" & "Flower In The Sky" entered into International Artist Magazine's "Favorite Subject" Competition in May 2009
I recently entered 2 pastel paintings into the International Artist Magazine's current competition "Favorite Subject". The two entries are titled, "Closeup Waterlily", 24" x 15 1/2". pastel on paper (pictured top left) and "Flower In The Sky", 24" x 18", pastel on paper, (pictured bottom left).
For the last 5 years, flowers, especially waterlilies, have seem to be my favorite subject to paint.
Various prizes are offered, ranging from 1st place to Finalist. Top winners receive $2000, a certificate, and a year free subscription to International Artist Magazine. Winners will be announced on the website and in Issue No 68 Aug/Sep 2009.
