Description
One day while at Central Park, located in New York City, I saw a group of tulips in their gardens. Occupying the same space was a very interesting flower that kind of looked like grapes. They were so small, but interesting. I took a photograph and it inspired me to paint a very large oil painting of this flower, in a closeup view, known as a grape hyacinth or muscari. I found the contrast in color and lighting to be quite pretty and I wanted to capture the relationships between the newly blooming flowers and the older, already bloomed flowers. This piece won the "Member's Choice" award at EBSQart.com.
